ABOUT THE COFFEE
This honey process coffee from Tarrazú, Costa Rica, comes from smallholder farmers working with CoopeTarrazú, one of the country’s most established coffee cooperatives. Grown in the Los Santos region between 1,400 and 1,900 masl, the coffee benefits from volcanic soils, cool mountain air, and steady growing conditions that have made Tarrazú one of Costa Rica’s best-known coffee regions for a good reason.
La Pastora presents a sweet profile, with notes of honey, cocoa, brown sugar, and citrus and a rounded mouthfeel. The honey process adds a smooth sweetness and depth while still keeping the cup clean, balanced with bright acidity.
While many large cooperatives struggle with consistency, Coope Tarrazu operates with centralized processing, strictly quality protocols and clearly defined standards that apply across all contributing farms. This allows them to produce coffees that remain reliable and traceable, even when working with hundreds of small producers across the Tarrazu region.
