She was one of the first researchers to document the decline of bumblebees; and to successfully help to advocate for the Rusty-Patched Bumblebee to be the first listed federally as endangered in both Canada and the United States.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSheila tragically passed away from Mesothelioma in 2025 at the young age of 43.
