Vava Coffee is a Certified B-Corp with a social enterprise business model that has a network of coffee producers in different regions of East Africa. The company aims to contribute to better future prospects for coffee communities and the industry as a whole and are geared towards sustainable livelihoods for the people and communities they work with.
This coffee farm is located in Tharaka-Nithi county one of the 47 counties of Kenya in the former Eastern province. The region is very fertile with producers engaging in tea, khat /miraa and livestock farming as well for both subsistence and commercial purposes. The farm is owned and run by Mr. Jepson Karau M'Muthara a dedicated farmer who has tirelessly self-educated to improve his coffee quality each harvest. The farm also has a good mix of indigenous trees as well as bananas that help provide shade for the coffee.
